1986 Co-founder of the Grassroots Party and Minnesota NORML

1987-2013 Organized Capitol protests against Reagan’s War on Drugs;

1999-2013 Organized the Global Marijuana March Minneapolis along with 200 cities

1988 Candidate for 5th District Congress opposing incumbent Martin Olav Sabo

1998 Chris Wright appealed his cannabis cultivation case to the MN Court of Appeals demanding his rights under Article 13, Section 7, of the Minnesota Constitution, which says, “No License required to peddle. Any person may sell, or peddle the products of the farm or garden occupied and cultivated by him without obtaining a license therefor.”  The Court interpreted the words “without obtaining a license” to mean “license required.” In 1906, everybody knew that cannabis hemp was a product of the farm or garden when this Constitutional Amendment was overwhelmingly adopted by the voters. In 1935, the year alcohol was legalized in MN, Governor Floyd B Olson & the legislature decided to defraud Minnesotans of their freedom to cultivate by requiring an illegal pharmacy license. In other words, they broke the law so they could jail us.

1998 to 2022 Grassroots Party Chair; Resigned as Party Chair March 18, 2022 to run for Governor under the Legal Marijuana Now Party banner; which branched off from the Grassroots Party in 2014.
